The Return Of Jack McBane - John Wagner and John Cooper proving you can pack a hell of alot into 3 pages -coloured this back in 2021.. posted this on Hipsville365ad blog but seeing as this my main personal blog now plus  he's starring in  a new Dredd story in the Megazine thought I'd dig these up again .. this story originally appeared in a comic before even my time  called Valient .I first eyeballed   Jack when I was about 4 in Battle Action Picture Weekly by then he was a secret agent rather than a Dirty Harry type street cop -which I think suited him better reading his early stories in Eagle and then the collection years later from Treasurey of British Comics-there is Dredd connection in the latest Megazine story looking forward to seeing how that story concludes.- written by Ken Niemand

Currently working on Anderson PSI Division, Episode 9 of  Charleys War , Star Wars both Newspaper  strip by Al Williamson and Walt Simonsons Ressurection of Evil, a  early Emma Peel era  Avengers story drawn by John Stokes circa 1965  plus another Battle story called Coolies Gun -here's a liitle preview of that  art by another British comic legend Geof Campion

 

 Busy Busy Busy !.. but need to divide time between this and caring for my Mum so that's why I've been a bit slower lately -I wanted to go  to the next Comic Convention in Enniskillen but that looks unlikely now  because of my duties as a carer  I can't really getaway right now which is a drag -I'll just keep banging out  some coloured pages for the time being.

    

Mandomath

 Season 3 -A change of pace from Seasons One and Two  Reminded me of Samarui epics like  The Water Margin and Kurosawa but with Jetpacks  so it's fine by me although Seasons One and Two still the best.

It's awesome that everybody was speculating about The Spies  but you're bought down to Mandolore by the end ... maybe the other spy was R5D4

Now thats what I talkin' about 2002 in forums I'd get banned from lol Hope to see more of this on grander scale Ran style with Sun Guard and Royal Guards -everything goes back to Kurosaws -check his storyboards George in Hondo

 

Gonna miss Mando and Grogru it'll be a few years unless he pops up in Skeleton Crew or Ashoka or perhaps theres a video game inbetween -Dyn hunting down Imperial High command Karl Fairburne style on different planets would be welcome But the Return of the Poncho will ease the wait till August.

So wheres Fenn Rau? my season  finale theory features him and Sabine Wren  7th Cavalarly style rescue  from The New Republic and Fenns Mandalorian Protectors fleet  for Dyn and Grogro-but the Armorer been a spy? I hope not but if it drives the story forward I can live with that ..but the way she laid out those Stormtroopers in season 1 finale it'll be hard truth to swallow The Mythosaur will be friendly and intellegent and has Gideon's number  I reckon he's lizard food  similar to Trump been attacked by Bald Eagle lol 

 

 

"One Does not Speak Unless One Knows" You can't get more Clint /Samurai than that ) R.I.P Paz Viszla the John Miluis of The Children of the Watch (the perfect name for a mid sixties garage band lol) Beyond Mando.... This Rocked my world last week! David Tennant Yay! We need Tom Baker again The Return of The Bendu!maybe season 3 We're bound to see Rebels crew in Andor too or at least a cameo -when Mon splits to Dantooine and the Rebel Alliance is born but we gotta wait for that. But most excited for Ashoka -as it makes perfect sense - Skeleton Crews a mystery though right now -I reckon We'll see Captain Hondo in that -could Jude Law be playing Max Von Sydows character Lor San Tekka from The Force Awakens ? just a thought..It sounds like Stand by Me or The Goonies but in space I wonder if Bill Burr will re-appear in that show or something else.

Season 3 has felt different I think much of that is down to  soundtrack -I guess Ludvig would be busy on other shows or projects...but he's come up with total classics lately

More Harrison this time as Rick Deckard started these last autumn -whilst colouring Al Williamsons Star Wars strips thought I'd give ol Blade Runner a whirl -these are far from complete but if I get get the sudden urge to return to these I will.

"Let me Tell You about my Mother" lol Been reading Action History of a Violent Comic tonnes of reprints from Action including Death Game 1999 which evolved into Spinball then Spinball Slaves untill Action merged with Battle and then it became Spinball Wars .. these Brian Bolland pages are from late 70's Action annual thought I'd have a go at these -it's very Rollerballesqe

May try out first episode of Harlem Heroes which is set in the 2050's Judge Forgo's era Jet Packs Ahoy! 

Thought I'd leap ahead to first WW2 era  Charleys War story as an experiment  enjoyed Joes art on the BEF stories but one can only wonder how Pat would of written if he was given the chance to research WW2

I'll return to WW1 era Charley -as these scans aint great but they are on the earlier re-scanned stories

But by far the best illustrated comic about the Blitzkrieg and Dunkirk -even if story  lacked Pat's impact! By the time Charley concluded Battle had lost it's edge(the other stories got really silly ) and I was more into 2000ad and music ,,

 

Colouring Project-Judge Dredd The Cursed Earth.

 2023's already in it's third nonth and this is only my second neo completed coloured page- not that I haven't been busy -so I'll post a few incomplete pages  of projects I'll come back to somewhere down the trail .

Recoloured front wraparound cover of Prog 169 of 2000ad (and Tornado ..which was on it's way out - soon to be replaced by Speed a mixed genre comics   all kind of ancestors of Valiant and Action which would eventually result     in the 80's revamp of Eagle))

Mike's awesome Future  Battle scene  depicts the second American Civil War  which took place in 2083 -lasted three years and a  taster for young Joe of the battlefield years prior to  The Apocalypse War  hopefully one day we'll learn  more about these mega historical  events (been waiting since 1979 lol)  I'm cooking up my own fan fiction story about Dredd's world  in my head .. really should get typing and photoshoping again..but it's an epic inspired by B,A.D Company and the Atomic Wars as well as Death Game 1999/Spinball ..May post the first  episode script soon.But I can imagine these vehciles both the green and blue ones would of been used in the Megac Cities Civil War

More Classic Dredd and McMahon (with a bit of Bolland towards end of post) from 1978 The Cursed Earth with my colour sploshout -I posted one page here  a while back but this what  I've coloured so far and may re-think a few things - but along with Charleys War another mega epic to complete (hope I can live long enough to fulfill all these ambitions.(mind you I got my M.O.T the other day I'm actually better than ten years ago) First time I've coloured Mike -so  if I've hit any wrong notes sorry... each artist I colour would have there own vision how this would look  I try to meet that with my own style takes a while to figure out depending on the artist..but wanted to colour this epic since mid eighties when I first read it in the two Titan Volumes .

I started the next page  -but it's not on computer any more .. but a bit of Bri to finnish off with -I  muffed this up  with brushes and layers going haywire but I'll restart it again sometime.

 Old Stoney Faces Birthday today ...thought I'd stick these up ..I'll follow up with part 2 takes a while to assemble these into order) It won't make alot of sense especially first few videos as sound on dialogue cuts out but once I meet Judd I mean Kellogg -iT'S great to see One Eyed Jack back in the megazine  and Battle Action is returning for a short while at least depends if it becomes popular -lots of cameos and battle-groupies again I just can't help having a lively imagination.

Lots of colouring on the go all though destracted by Battlefront 2 (big improvement since debut)Zombie Army 4 and the trials of life such as it is ..mustn't grumble it'll be spring soon.

Mandolore or Bust!

 2023 and the grim reaper is still acting like a berk at least in March there's one thing you can count on been quality and that's Mando.

I wonder if Christopher Llyod is Mando's old Mentor or perhaps he's a Jedi that looked after Grogu after Order 66 -also hoping to see Fenn Rau pop up I doubt he'd getalong with Bo Katan and the Death Watch somehow .. Fett will end up Mandalore that's who my moneys on.,, he has a vision when Lizard jumped into his snout  I think that connects up directly .with the Mandalorian tribes he seems prepared to wield The Darksaber

 

 Nice fanart dates all wrong though  otherwise I wouldn't be all speculative now lol If theres a Mando game in the works they should set it before he hooks up with the green fella I mean he has around 30 odd years of history to explore would make a good way to make up for not making 1313

Final Boba Fett/Mandalorian Fallout 4 playlist -spent far too much time playing this lol I need a new p.c if I want to return to Commonwealth so I'm trying out some other games at the moment for a change .But I'm sure when Fallout London hits I'll come back for sure.
